
The third meeting of the 10th Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of ICAR-CCARI held during 19-20 May, 2026
The third meeting of the 10th Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of ICAR-CCARI, Goa was held during 19–20 May 2026 in the Institute campus. The meeting was chaired by Dr. S. D. Sawant (Former Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, Maharashtra). The meeting was attended by RAC members Dr. Manoj P. Samuel, Former Executive Director, Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM), Kerala; Dr. V. Sejian, Former Dean, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research, Puducherry; and Dr. S. Vennila, Former Principal Scientist, ICAR-NRIIPM, New Delhi. Other members of the committee, Dr. Raj Kumar Gautam, Principal Scientist and Head, ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi; Dr. Grinson George, Director, ICAR-CMFRI, Kerala; and Dr. A. Velmurugan, Assistant Director General (Soil & Water Management), ICAR, New Delhi, attended the meeting virtually.
Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa, welcomed the RAC members and highlighted the major achievements of the institute in his inaugural address. Dr. Shirish D. Narnaware, Member Secretary of RAC, presented the Action Taken Report on the recommendations made during the previous RAC meeting. The meeting also included detailed presentations by sectional in-charges covering various research and extension activities of the institute, including Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), ABI, Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP), and Scheduled Tribe Sub Plan (STC). Each presentation was followed by detailed discussion and remarks from the Chairman and RAC members. The Chairman and members appreciated the institute’s outstanding research achievements and recognitions. During the plenary session, the RAC members offered constructive suggestions and valuable feedback on the ongoing research projects to enhance their visibility, impact, and outreach among farmers and stakeholders, while also aligning them with broader national priorities and the vision of Viksit Bharat.
