Dr. Manohara KK ICAR-CCARI Scientist Dr. Manohara, K. K., honoured with the prestigious ‘Goa State Biodiversity Conservation Award’’ for the year 2022 in the ‘’Applied Biodiversity Researcher’ category during the World Environment Day programme held on 5th June 2022. The award carries a citation, Rs. 25000/- and a memento. He was awarded for his significant contribution to the conservation and utilisation of native rice varieties of Goa state.

farmers awards 2024 The President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu conferred Padma Shri 2024 to Shri Sanjay Anant Patil for his Innovative Kulaghar Farming and Contribution to Natural Farming Shri Sanjay Anant Patil (59), an innovative farmer from Goa has been conferred with the coveted Padma Shri 2024 by the Government of India for his outstanding contributions to Natural Farming and zero-energy micro-irrigation system. Shri Sanjay Patil is a green revolutionary, known to many as the 'one-man-army' because he single-handedly transformed a barren plot of land measuring ten acres, into a lush green natural farm (Kulaghar) with technical guidance from ICAR-CCARI, Goa. A team constituted by the Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa visited the farmer, documented his technologies through good quality photographs, and prepared the application for the nomination of Padma Awards 2024 and subsequently nominated through the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa.
IARI Innovative farmer award Two progressive farmers of ICAR-CCARI awarded with prestigious IARI Innovative farmer award for the year 2024 Shri NK Kurian and Smt. Anita Mathew Vallikkappen, two progressive farmers of ICAR-CCARI, Goa have been conferred with the coveted IARI–Innovative Farmer Award for the year 2024 on 6th June 2024 by ICARIARI, New Delhi for their outstanding contributions to the development of agroeco-tourism and fish based integrated farming systems. A team constituted by Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa documented their technologies through good quality photographs, and prepared the application for the nomination of IARIInnovative Farmer Award 2024.
Hon’ble Governor of Goa honoured ICAR-CCARI cashew farmer Shri Angelo Barreto An organic cashew grower Shri Angelo Barreto from Curtorim, Salcete, Goa got ‘Best Farmer Award -2024’ at the hands of the Hon’ble Governor of Goa Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai, in presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa Shri Pramod Sawant, on 14th June 2024 at the Raj Bhavan, Goa. The award is given by the Directorate of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development, Govt. of India. ICAR CCARI documented the success story and recommended the farmer for said Best Farmer Award -2024 by DCCD, Govt. of India.
Best fisheries Start-up Award from the Govt. of Kerala Shri Arun Das NH from STEM Systems Pvt. Ltd., an incubate of KUFOS, Kochi and ICAR-CCARI, Goa has been conferred with the best fisheries Start-up Award by the Govt. of Kerala on 10th July, 2024 during the National Fish Farmers Day Celebrations at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He received the award for developing a novel crab fattening system to improve the income and livelihood of fishermen and fish farmers.
2023 Innovative farmer of coastal district of Karnataka Shri Amai Mahalinga Naik nominated by ICAR-CCARI, Goa conferred with the Padma Shri 2022 Shri Amai Mahalinga Naik (Age 77 years), an innovative farmer from Adyanadka village of coastal Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka has been conferred with the coveted Padma Shri 2022 by the Government of India for transforming an arid sloping hill into a fertile farm through innovative zeroenergy micro-irrigation system. A team constituted by the Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa comprising of two Scientists visited the farmer and documented his technologies through good quality photographs and prepared the application for the nomination of Padma awards 2022. For all his efforts though-out his life which he accomplished on his own, he earned the moniker “One-man army” and “Tunnel man”. Naik’s farm has become a must-see modelfarmland and has over 1000 visitors a year including foreign tourists. He profusely expressed his gratitude to ICAR-CCARI, Goa and Govt. of India for recognizing his hard work and innovation. 2019-20 Jagjivan Ram Abhinav Kisan Puruskar: Shri Vinod Gopal Barve, progressive farmers from Sattari, North Goa was awarded prestigious Jagjivan Ram Abhinav Kisan Puruskar under Zonal category for Zone VIII.
