Animal Health Camp at Karukathi Village, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu under SCSP

    The Institute organised an Animal Health Camp at Karukathi village in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu on 28 February 2026, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ramanathapuram under SCSP. During the camp, Dr. Udharwar Sanjaykumar Vithalrao, Subject Matter Specialist (Animal Science), conducted per rectal examination of 10 cows and provided necessary treatment and advisory services. Veterinary care including treatment, vaccination, and deworming support was extended to 15 cows, 35 goats, and more than 250 poultry birds. Farmers were provided guidance on disease prevention strategies and scientific livestock management practices. Emphasis was also laid on balanced nutrition, particularly the use of mineral mixture and calcium supplementation in dairy cattle to enhance milk production, reproductive performance, and overall health.A total of 30 Scheduled Caste families benefited from the animal health camp.Theprogramme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Udharwar S.V. and Dr. Sreekanth G.B. and Dr. S. Vallal Kannan.
