ICAR–CCARI Celebrates the 77th Republic Day

ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa celebrated the 77thRepublic Day of India with great patriotism and enthusiasm on 26thJanuary 2026. The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Director, followed by the National Anthem, patriotic slogans, and a ceremonial parade and march past by the security guards, creating an atmosphere of pride and national spirit across the campus.

Dr. Savita Singal, Former Dean, College of Home Science, and Dr. Shiv Kumar Singal, Former Senior Entomologist and Professor from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, graced the occasion as special guests; were warmly welcomed and felicitated by the Director. Addressing the gathering, Director Dr. Parveen Kumar paid heartfelt tributes to the freedom fighters and saluted the Indian Armed Forces for their unwavering service and sacrifice. He highlighted the glorious journey and achievements of Indian agriculture and emphasized the institute’s responsibility towards empowering farmers of the coastal region through science-based innovations and sustainable technologies. He also shared the roadmap for the institute’s upcoming ‘Net Zero Mission’, focusing on eco-friendly practices, data-driven planning, and continuous staff sensitization to ensure environmental sustainability.

Recognition awards were presented to contractual staff members for their dedicated service, and prizes were distributed to winners of the annual sports and games organized by the Institute Staff Recreation Club. Staff members, contractual workers, security personnel, and their family members enthusiastically participated in the celebration, reflecting the strong sense of community within the institute.The programme was coordinated by Dr. Vinod Ubarhande, ACTO (Farm Superintendent) and General Secretary, Institute Staff Recreation Club, along with the Farm and Estate Section teams, ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
