
Press and Media Delegation Visit to ICAR–CCARI, Goa
A delegation comprising press reporters and media representative, along with the officials from Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, visited the ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa on 6th May 2026. The delegation included a total of 20 media personnel from Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, who were provided an overview of the institute’s mandate, research programmes, and significant contributions towards the development of coastal agriculture and the welfare of coastal farmers.
The Director, Dr. Parveen Kumar, welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the institute’s achievements, innovative research initiatives, and extension efforts. Dr. Vinod Ubarhande delivered a detailed presentation on “Best Practices and Innovative Research Initiatives of ICAR–CCARI,” followed by an interactive session that witnessed active participation from the visiting media professionals. An extensive field visit to various experimental farms, research units, and demonstration sites was subsequently conducted, during which ongoing research activities and technologies were explained in detail. Dr. Sakharam Desai, Associate Professor & PRO of Dr. BSKKV, Dapoli, expressed his appreciation for the institute’s impactful work and its sustained contributions to strengthening climate-resilient livelihoods of coastal farming communities. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Vinod Ubarhande, Farm Superintendent, along with Shri Rahul Kulkarni, ACTO and Shri Ashish Pitre, Sr. Technical Assistant. The visit enabled the media delegation to gain first-hand exposure to applied agricultural research and farmer-centric innovations of ICAR–CCARI, facilitating informed dissemination of the institute’s work to the wider public.
