Press tour of PIB Ranchi Media Delegation to ICAR–CCARI, Goa

 A delegation of 10 media professionals from Press Information Bureau (PIB), Ranchi, Jharkhand, along with officials from PIB Panaji, visited the ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR–CCARI), Goa on 10th February 2026. The visiting delegation comprised senior editors and reporters representing leading media organisations, who were provided an in-depth exposure to the institute’s mandate, research priorities, and contributions to coastal agriculture. The delegation was formally welcomed by Dr. Vinod Ubarhande, who received the guests on behalf of the Director and briefed them on the institute’s role in developing climate-resilient and farmer-centric technologies for coastal regions. He also delivered a detailed presentation showcasing best practices and innovative research at ICAR–CCARI, highlighting key research outcomes, successful technologies, and extension interventions benefiting coastal farming communities. This was followed by a lively interaction with the media delegates, marked by keen interest and active participation.

Subsequently, an extensive field visit to various experimental farms, research units, and demonstration sites was conducted, during which ongoing research activities and field-level innovations were explained in detail. The field visit and overall programme were coordinated by Dr. Vinod Ubarhande, Farm Superintendent, along with Shri Rahul Kulkarni, ACTO. The visit enabled the media professionals to gain first-hand understanding of the institute’s research and outreach efforts, supporting informed and effective dissemination of ICAR–CCARI’s work to a wider audience.
