आईसीएआर-सीसीएआरआई द्वारा नारवा, गोवा में मृदा स्वास्थ्य पर क्षेत्रीय निदान एवं विधि प्रदर्शन आयोजित

 

    आईसीएआर-सीसीएआरआई के वैज्ञानिकों की एक बहु-विषयक टीम ने 17-05-2026 को उत्तर गोवा के नारवा गांव में सतत मृदा उर्वरता प्रबंधन पर केंद्रित क्षेत्रीय निदान भ्रमण एवं विधि प्रदर्शन आयोजित किया। विशेषज्ञ टीम में डॉ. ए. आर. देसाई (प्रधान वैज्ञानिक, उद्यानिकी, सेवानिवृत्त), डॉ. अकुला चिनापोलैया (वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक, मसाले, बागान, औषधीय एवं सुगंधित पौधे) तथा डॉ. थेइवनई (वैज्ञानिक, फल विज्ञान) शामिल थे। टीम ने प्रगतिशील स्थानीय किसानों के साथ समूह परामर्श करते हुए गोवा की कृषि-पारिस्थितिकी के अनुरूप वैज्ञानिक रूप से प्रमाणित एवं किफायती मृदा स्वास्थ्य प्रबंधन तकनीकों का प्रदर्शन किया।

    व्यावहारिक तकनीकी सत्र में स्थानीय संसाधनों के उपयोग तथा स्थान-विशिष्ट सूक्ष्म पोषक तत्व प्रबंधन के माध्यम से फसल उत्पादकता बढ़ाने पर विशेष जोर दिया गया। किसानों को ‘उस्की’ (स्थानीय रूप से उपलब्ध हरी पत्ती खाद) के उपयोग की प्रभावी पारंपरिक-वैज्ञानिक पद्धति के बारे में जानकारी दी गई, जिससे सुपारी/नारियल जैसी फसलों की उपज एवं गुणवत्ता में सुधार होता है। इसके अतिरिक्त, वैज्ञानिकों ने स्थानीय फल फसलों में आने वाली समस्याओं का स्थल पर समाधान प्रस्तुत किया। गोवा की अम्लीय मिट्टी में ब्रेडफ्रूट में फल झड़ने की समस्या को नियंत्रित करने हेतु चूने के प्रयोग के महत्व पर बल दिया गया। साथ ही आम एवं नारियल बागानों में सूक्ष्म पोषक तत्वों की कमी को दूर करने के लिए बोरॉन एवं जिंक के संतुलित उपयोग की जानकारी भी किसानों को दी गई।

 

ICAR-CCARI Conducts Field Diagnostic and Method Demonstration on Soil Health in Narvaat Narva, Goa
 

    A multidisciplinary team of scientists from the ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CCARI), Old Goa, conducted a targeted field diagnostic visit and method demonstration on sustainable soil fertility management in Narva village, North Goa on 17-05-2026. The expert team, comprising Dr. A. R. Desai (Principal Scientist, Horticulture, Superannuated), Dr. Akula Chinapolaiah (Senior Scientist, Spices, Plantation, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants), and Dr. Theivanai (Scientist, Fruit Science), engaged in a focused group consultation with progressive local farmers to demonstrate scientifically validated, cost-effective soil health interventions tailored to Goan agro-ecosystems.

    The hands-on technical session focused heavily on boosting crop productivity through locally available resources and site-specific micronutrient management. Farmers were educated on an effective traditional-scientific practice: incorporation of Uski (a locally abundant green leaf manure) to enhance nut yield and quality. Additionally, the team conducted on-site troubleshooting for local fruit crops, emphasizing the essential application of lime in Goa’s acidic soils to control fruit drop in breadfruit, alongside the strategic application of Boron and Zinc to rectify micronutrient deficiencies in mango and coconut plantations.
