गोवा में आक्रामक मत्स्य प्रजातियों के प्रबंधन पर वेबिनार
आईसीएआर–केंद्रीय तटीय कृषि अनुसंधान संस्थान (ICAR–CCARI), गोवा द्वारा पार्वतीबाई चौगुले कला एवं विज्ञान महाविद्यालय तथा गोवा राज्य अनुसंधान फाउंडेशन (GSRF) के सहयोग से दिनांक 17 मार्च 2026 को “गोवा में आक्रामक मत्स्य प्रजातियों का प्रबंधन” विषय पर एक वेबिनार आयोजित किया गया। यह कार्यक्रम गोवा राज्य में आक्रामक मत्स्य प्रजातियों के प्रबंधन पर केंद्रित GSRF वित्तपोषित अनुसंधान परियोजना के अंतर्गत आयोजित किया गया।

आईसीएआर–सीसीएआरआई ने गोवा में
आक्रामक मत्स्य प्रजातियों के प्रबंधन तथा स्वदेशी मत्स्य प्रजातियों
के संरक्षण हेतु प्रजनन के महत्व पर बल दिया।
डॉ.
सावियो फलेरियो, प्रबंध निदेशक, GSRF ने GSRF की पहलों तथा
IRIS-LD के अंतर्गत इस अनुसंधान परियोजना के चयन के बारे में
जानकारी दी।
डॉ. प्रदीप सरमोकदम,
सदस्य सचिव, गोवा राज्य जैव विविधता बोर्ड (GSBB) एवं गोवा राज्य
आर्द्रभूमि प्राधिकरण (GSWA) ने स्वदेशी प्रजातियों के
संरक्षण में आर्द्रभूमियों की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका तथा आक्रामक विदेशी
मत्स्य प्रजातियों के नियंत्रण उपायों पर प्रकाश डाला।
डॉ. श्रीकांत जी. बी., वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक (FRM) ने आक्रामक मत्स्य प्रजातियों पर एक विस्तृत तकनीकी सत्र प्रस्तुत किया, जिसमें जलीय पारिस्थितिक तंत्र पर इनके प्रभाव एवं प्रबंधन रणनीतियों पर विशेष ध्यान दिया गया। इस सत्र में अंतर्देशीय मत्स्य पालन, मत्स्य विविधता, वैश्विक, क्षेत्रीय एवं स्थानीय स्तर पर आक्रमण की स्थिति, प्रजाति-विशिष्ट प्रभाव, आक्रमण के स्रोत एवं मार्ग, नियंत्रण उपाय, नीतिगत ढांचा तथा संबंधित अनुसंधान अध्ययनों जैसे विषयों को सम्मिलित किया गया।
इस वेबिनार में कुल 50 प्रतिभागियों (28 महिला एवं 22 पुरुष) ने भाग लिया, जिनमें मत्स्य, GSWA एवं GSBB जैसे विभागों के वैज्ञानिक, शैक्षणिक, अनुसंधान एवं प्रशासनिक कार्मिक, विद्यार्थी, जैव विविधता प्रबंधन समिति के सदस्य, मछुआरे एवं किसान शामिल थे।
प्रतिभागियों ने आयोजन के लिए आभार व्यक्त किया तथा गोवा की आर्द्रभूमि पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र में आक्रामक मत्स्य प्रजातियों के प्रबंधन हेतु पूर्ण सहयोग का आश्वासन दिया।
कार्यक्रम का आयोजन डॉ. श्रीकांत जी. बी., श्री त्रिवेश मयेकर एवं डॉ. सुजीत देसाई, वैज्ञानिक, आईसीएआर–सीसीएआरआई तथा डॉ. शैश मोराजकर, सहायक प्राध्यापक, पार्वतीबाई चौगुले कला एवं विज्ञान महाविद्यालय द्वारा किया गया।
Webinar on Invasive Fish species management in Goa
A webinar on “Invasive Fish Species Management in Goa” was held on 17 March 2026, organized by ICAR-CCARI, Goa in association with Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science and the Goa State Research Foundation (GSRF). The event was conducted as part of a GSRF-funded research project focusing on invasive fish species management in the state.Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director of ICAR-CCARI, emphasized the significance of managing invasive fish species in Goa and conservation of indigenous fish species through breeding. Dr. SavioFallerio, Managing Director, GSRF spoke about GSRF’s initiatives and the selection of this research project for funding under IRIS-LD. Dr. Pradip Sarmokadam, Member Secretary of the Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB) and Goa State Wetland Authority (GSWA), highlighted the crucial role of wetlands in conserving native species and control measuresfor invasive alien fish species.Dr. Sreekanth G.B., Senior Scientist (FRM), delivered a detailed session on invasive fish species, focusing on their impacts on aquatic ecosystems and management strategies. The session covered topics such as inland fisheries, fish diversity, and the global, regional, and local status of fish invasions, species-specific impacts, sources and pathways of invasion, control measures, policy frameworks, and relevant research studies.The webinar was attended by 50 participants (28 female and 22 male), including scientific, academic, research, and official staff from departments such as Fisheries, GSWA, and GSBB, along with students, Biodiversity Management Committee members, fishermen, and farmers. Participants expressed their gratitude to the organizers and assured their wholehearted cooperation in managing invasive fish species in Goa’s wetland ecosystems.The webinar was organized by Dr. Sreekanth G.B., Shri Trivesh Mayekar, and Dr. Sujeet Desai, scientists from ICAR-CCARI, along with Dr. Shaiesh Morajkar, Assistant Professor at Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science.
