ICAR-CCARI, Goa participated in the 1st meeting of the Regional Advisory Committee on Harnessing Solar Potential in Goa

 

    ICAR-CCARI, Goa participated in the 1^st meeting of the Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) on “Harnessing Solar Potential in Goa: Forging Stakeholder Partnerships and Community Engagement” organized by NABARD, Goa on 23^rd June, 2025. Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI was the Guest of Honour for the program. Shri. Sandeep Dharkar, General Manager, NABARD, Goa gave a brief outline about the objective of the meeting and welcomed the Director and other delegates. Dr. Parveen Kumar in his address highlighted the potential areas of application of Solar Energy in Agriculture for reducing cost of cultivation and carbon emission. He also stressed upon the different initiatives taken by ICAR-CCARI for utilization of Solar energy in campus like use of Solar Driers for horticulture produce and Solar powered irrigation system. The program was participated by various other stakeholders including The Goa State Cooperative Bank, Dept. of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of Goa, Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA), Directorate of Agriculture, State Bank of India, farmers and other line departments. During the program, Director and other delegates released the Central Government’s PM-KUSUM scheme guidelines and Road map for renewable energy and clean technologies for fisheries in Goa prepared by MP Ensystems Private Limited. Dr. Sujeet Desai, Scientist (LWME) also attended the program along with the Director.
