PM Kisan Samman Nidhi live telecast organized by ICAR-KVK, CCARI, North Goa
ICAR-KVK, CCARI, North Goa, organized a live telecast of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji releasing the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi in Bhagalpur, Bihar, to eligible beneficiaries. In a moment of piety, Prime Minister Shri Modi released the 19th installment of PM KISAN, crediting ₹22,000 crore directly into farmers' bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer. Hon'ble PM Shri Modi ji emphasized the four pillars of Viksit Bharat viz., poor, farmers, youth, and women. He highlighted that the government prioritized farmer welfare and has worked hard to solve all farmer issues over the past decade. Farmers need quality seeds, affordable fertilizers, irrigation, livestock disease protection, and disaster protection. Under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, farmers received ₹1.75 lakh crore in claims during disasters.
Hon’ble PM enlightened that the government encouraged animal husbandry to boost the incomes of landless and small farmers. After a decade of growth from 14 crore tonnes to 24 crore tonnes, India is now the world's largest milk producer. Hon’ble PM said the Motihari Centre of Excellence will help develop superior indigenous cattle breeds. The milk plant in Barauni will benefit three lakh farmers and provide youth employment, and the Makhana Board will help farmers with production, processing, value addition, and marketing. Three new centers of excellence will help tomato, onion, and potato farmers in Munger and Buxar, and Bhagalpur will focus on Jardalu mangoes. The PM highlighted efforts to boost production, achieve pulses and oilseed self-reliance, establish more food processing industries, and ensure Indian farmers' produce reaches global markets.
On this occasion, Shri Arif Mohammed Khan, Governor of Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of Agriculture, Shri Jitan Ram Manji, Shri Giriraj Singh, Shri Lalan Singh, Shri Chirag Paswan, and Shri Ram Nath Thakur, Union Minister of State, joined other dignitaries at the event.
ICAR-KVK, CCARI, North Goa program was graced as chief guest by Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade ji, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. He emphasized that the poor, youth, farmers, and women are the four pillars of the nation. He stressed the importance of encouraging women to pursue careers in agriculture. He urged the youth to become job creators rather than job seekers, creating opportunities for themselves and others. The Chief Guest, Hon'ble MP Shri Sadanand Shet Tanavade ji, felicitated the farmers of North Goa by presenting certificates, shawls, floral bouquets, and coconuts. He also distributed coconut seedlings, seed kits, and vermicompost to the participants.
Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director of ICAR-CCARI, Goa, highlighted the importance of agricultural research in significantly increasing the production of food grains, fruits, vegetables, poultry, eggs, fish, and milk in our country. One hundred forty-two farmers and farmwomen from various villages in North Goa and eight officials participated in the event. The Hon'ble MP praised the efforts of the Director of ICAR-CCARI for his dedication to improving the status of Goan farmers. The live telecast of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi event was coordinated by Dr. N. Bommayasamy, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Udharwar, Mr. Rahul Kulkarni, Mr. Rahul Kumar, Mr. Vishwajeet, and Ms. Shishira.
