ICAR-KVK North Goa Felicitated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa for Outstanding Contribution to the State of Goa

    ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), North Goa, was felicitated with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, during the state-level function held at Ponda to commemorate “11 Saal – Sankalp Se Siddhi”, marking 11 years of visionary governance. The award was presented in the esteemed presence of the state cabinet and Chief Secretary.

    The certificate was received by Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, and his team, in recognition of KVK North Goa’s exceptional role in advancing sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture in the state. During the function, the team of Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) also participated and displayed key initiatives for the benefit of attending farmers and other stakeholders.

    KVK North Goa impacts over 25,000 farmers and stakeholders annually through training programs focused on modern farming techniques, organic agriculture, and integrated farming systems. The centre has led initiatives in crop diversification, integrated pest management, and the promotion of biofertilizers, vermicomposting, and efficient water use—all tailored to Goa’s coastal agro-ecology.

    With more than 150 farmer-scientist interactions and on-field demonstrations, KVK has empowered the farming community with actionable knowledge and skills. This recognition underscores KVK North Goa’s unwavering commitment to innovation, capacity building, and rural development aligned with the goals of Viksit Bharat @2047.
