Hon'ble MLA Shri Rajesh Faldesai attended Kisan Gosthi and input distribution Program

 

ICAR-KVK, ICAR-Central Costal Agricultural Research Institute, Ela, Old Goa conducted a Kisan Gosthi and input distribution program on March 13th, 2025, in collaboration with the Rural Community for Agricultural Services, Panaji. During the program, a total of 7 mini power tillers were distributed to the ST farmers of Tiswadi by the Honourable MLA, Shri Rajesh Faldesai, Cumbarjua Constituency. He urged farmers to adopt mechanized farming to reduce agricultural input costs and increase their income.

Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director of ICAR CCARI Goa, addressed the farmers and brief about the Scenario of Goan Agriculture. He upraised the farmers to increase the productivity using the good quality planting material and seeds, harvesting of water to increase the cropping intensity to make Goa Swayampurna by reducing the dependency on the neighbouring states.

Dr. Udharwar S.V., In-charge Head of KVK North Goa, welcomed the gathering and urged farmers to seek expert advice from the specialists at KVK through demonstrations and training sessions. During the program, Dr. Udharwar S.V. (SMS, Animal Science), Mr. Rahul Kumar (SMS, Agronomy), and Mr. Rahul Kulkarni (ACTO, Soil Science) participated in the Kisan Gosthi and provided detailed explanations on fodder cultivation, vermicomposting, and natural farming, respectively.

    A total of 31 individuals participated, including 23 farmers (13 male and 10 female) and 8 officials from various departments, including Zilla Parishad, ST Development Corporation, Deccan Fine Chemicals, Tiswadi Farmer Producer Company, SBI, and Canara Bank. The event was coordinated by Dr. Udharwar S.V., Mr. Rahul Kumar, Mr. Rahul Kulkarni, and Mr. Vishwajeet Prajapati.
