Field day on Nursery Establishment, Field Preparation, and Nutrient Management of Paddy at Amona Village, North Goa, Goa on 20th June 2025

    A Field Day was successfully conducted on 20^th June 2025 at Amona village, North Goa, focusing on key aspects of paddy cultivation, including nursery establishment, field preparation, and nutrient management. The event witnessed active participation from local farmers—the session aimed to enhance the technical knowledge and practical skills of farmers ahead of the kharif season. Dr. Paramesha V., Senior Scientist (Agronomy), emphasized best practices for raising healthy paddy nurseries, such as optimal seed rate, seed treatment, and proper bed preparation. Participants were also trained on efficient field preparation techniques, ensuring adequate water management and soil health.

    A special focus was given to balanced and integrated nutrient management, with the appropriate application of organic manures and chemical fertilizers based on soil test recommendations. The interactive nature of the training encouraged farmers to clarify doubts and share experiences, making it a highly engaging and impactful program. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to improved paddy yield and sustainable farming practices in the region.
