The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) was successfully organized on 4th June 2025 by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) North Goa and ICAR-CCARI at Alorna Gram Panchayat, Pernem Taluka, North Goa. The event focused on promoting sustainable agriculture practices among local farmers.
    Agricultural experts of ICAR-CCARI, Goa provided valuable agro-advisories on integrated pest and disease management in coconut and arecanut, specifically addressing issues like rhinoceros beetle, stem weevil, bud rot, and button shedding. Emphasis was also laid on the adoption of climate-resilient rice varieties developed by ICAR-CCARI, such as Goa Dhan. Information on various state and central government schemes beneficial to farmers was also disseminated.
    The programme witnessed active participation from local governance and agricultural authorities, including Mr. Ramchandra K. Parab, Sarpanch, Ms. Aarti N. Raul, Deputy Sarpanch, and other Panchayat members of Alorna. Mr. Ranjit Melhapswkar, Zonal Agricultural Officer, Pernem, Mr. Prasant Takkar, Branch Manager of Goa State Cooperative Bank (Bicholim Branch), and representatives from ATMA North Goa also engaged with the farming community during the event.
