ICAR-CCARI Felicitated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa during Seva Pakhwada for Promoting SHGs, FPOs and Convergence between ICAR and Government of Goa

 

ICAR–Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CCARI), Goa, was felicitated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, in the august presence of the entire State Cabinet and Chief Secretary, during the Seva Pakhwada celebrations held on 17-09-2025 at Kala Academy, Panaji.

The recognition was conferred on ICAR-CCARI for its significant contributions in promoting Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and fostering effective convergence between ICAR and the Government of Goa. This collaboration has strengthened grassroots entrepreneurship, farmer collectives, and inclusive agricultural development in the state.

 Through initiatives under ICAR schemes and the centrally sponsored schemes like PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) , the institute has supported rural women, farmer-led enterprises, and agri-entrepreneurs in Goa. These efforts have helped establish sustainable value chains, improve income opportunities, and build resilience in the farm sector. The proactive role of ICAR-CCARI in strengthening linkages with government departments, SHGs, and FPOs has been instrumental in enhancing livelihoods and contributing to the vision of Swayampurna Goa and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
