H.E. Mr. Rami Qtaishat, ASG, AARDO Visited ICAR–CCARI, Goa

 

His Excellency Mr. Rami Qtaishat, Assistant Secretary General of the ‘African-Asian Rural Development Organization’ (AARDO), along with 11 delegates from various African and Asian countries including Oman, Kenya, Lebanon, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Eswatini, Gambia, Ghana and Zambia visited the ICAR - Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa and interacted with the scientists and staff on 01st November 2025.
During the visit and interaction, His Excellency and the International delegation toured various research units of the institute to understand its ongoing programs, facilities, and expertise in coastal agricultural research and agro-ecotourism development.
The delegates observed different models of circular economy being practiced at the institute, including recycling of agricultural waste, plantation crop systems, animal units, and the agro-ecotourism complex showcasing innovative and sustainable concepts. The participants actively interacted with the scientists, discussed various aspects of coastal farming, and shared their experiences and perspectives. H.E. Mr. Rami appreciated the institute’s initiatives and assured possible collaboration and support from AARDO for the promotion of agro-ecotourism at the international level for African and Asian countries. Dr. R. K. Singh, ICBA, Dubai, UAE, and Dr. D. K. Sharma, Ex Director (ICAR-CSSRI), also joined this visit and interaction.
The visit and interaction were coordinated by Dr. Vinod Ubarhande under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Kumar, Director, ICAR–CCARI, Goa. A brief presentation on agro-ecotourism was delivered by Dr. R.S. Rajkumar, Senior Scientist, to the delegation.
